AFOL.lu – LU

AFOL online community and local network in the greater region of luxembourg. (see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Region_of_Luxembourg).

AFOL.lu has been founded 2012 as an online forum and a monthly local meeting.

.lu stays for Luxembourg. The country shares international borders with Belgium to the west and north, Germany to the east, and France to the south. and is part of the BENELUX countries.

Luxembourg natives speaks fluid french, german, english and luxembourgish. Best conditions for meetings, exchanges and networking.

AFOL.lu tries to connect AFOL’s in the greater region of Luxembourg and promote community buildings/projects.

In 2015 we founded Lauter Steine e.V. in Kaiserslautern / Germany and maintain a yearly saisonal (april – november) AFOL exhibition (500 m2)

This exhibition is part of the Gardenshow (Gartenschau Kaiserslautern) with 600.000 visitors 

2020 It was decided to split Lauter Steine e.V. from AFOL.lu

AFOL.lu takes a new orientation:

The new focus is local (Luxembourg) and we try to take the challenge with a multi language community.

This is not easy. With a population of 626 000. In terms of the proportion of foreigners in the population, the city of Luxembourg is at the top with 70.8%. If you limit yourself to one language, you are limiting the target group in an extreme way.

We are expecting to enlarge our network beside of german to french and english to exchange ideas, projects, standards etc.

For this our online platform afol.lu would be the key.

Other priorities are:

• Developing building standards for community projects  which aim to promote cooperation and give everyone a quick start on community projects. These standards offer the possibility to build individually, but ultimately to put everything together with others to form a common dioramas.
  With these standards we give the opportunity to other Lugs in the region to participate in projects
• Promote LEGO Ideas Projects from our members
